AIESEC

AIESEC is an international student organization that operates in more than 1700 universities in 124 countries. The acronym AIESEC stands for Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (International association of students in economic and commercial studies). The AIESEC international office is currently based in Rotterdam, from where more than 25,000 students and recent graduates are sent to internships every year around the world. AIESEC aims to offer students the opportunity to develop an international, personal network and gain leadership skills.

AIESEC is the largest student organization in the world. The members are students and recent graduates of higher education institutions (universities) who are interested in leadership, management, and international affairs.
The core task of AIESEC is to offer development opportunities to students in the field of international cooperation (the so-called AIESEC Experience ).
Every country in which AIESEC operates has a national committee that coordinates activities in the country. The individual members are members of a local committee that belongs to their university. Members regularly participate in international meetings (such as the annual international congress ). In addition to the meetings, the members of AIESEC are active on the extensive AIESEC network on the internet.

The AIESEC experience can be experienced in four parts:

  • Global Community Development Program - participation projects in developing countries
  • Global Internship Program - Management internships in reputable companies
  • Team Leader - a full-time leadership role within the board of AIESEC (Executive Board)
  • Team Member - a part-time leadership role within the board of AIESEC
